How it works
Tailings ponds carry a persistent liability for mining operators: unstable pH, mobilized metals, and dependence on hazardous bulk chemical treatment. SCSC's patent-pending Mass Gas Stability Unit (MGSU) solves this by generating stable, on-demand aqueous gas solutions on-site at atmospheric pressure - no hazardous storage or transport required.
Precision Gas Delivery for Cleaner Mine Water.
Stable Carbonic Acid (SCA), holds a controlled pH of 3.8–5.5 for 43+ days, enabling precise, sustained buffering that replaces bulk acids like sulfuric or hydrochloric acid. The platform also delivers dissolved oxygen water at ~300% saturation to accelerate biodegradation and metal oxidation, plus stable Ozone (O₃) and Hydrogen (H₂) water for targeted oxidation or reduction chemistry — each staying effective for days.
Generated locally and on-demand, MGSU gives operators precise control over treatment chemistry while cutting handling risk, chemical logistics, and long-term life cycle costs - a scalable path to safer, more cost-effective tailing pond management.
Because it eliminates the volatility of traditional carbon dioxide injection, it allows researchers to isolate variables and run cleaner comparisons. It’s ideal for controlled experiments, prototyping, and scaling early-stage products into predictable, manufacturable formulas.
